Random pics

Here are a few pictures. I have been so bad about updating the blog lately. Sorry! This week has been crazy! I have been helping out in Mason's class on Tuesdays and Thursdays (with Alex) and Alex and I go to preschool M/W/F. So it seems like we don't have much free time. Alex does extremely well in Mason's class on Tues/Thurs. He participates in all of the lessons and crafts. It's so cute! He even helps clean up when it's time to clean. He has a lot of fun while I am able to help Mason's teacher. Below is a picture of Alex driving a bus at Lakeline Mall.

The big update of the year... Alex is consistently using the potty! Yeah! He still doesn't want to wear underwear all the time but we are getting there. He would rather take his diaper on and off to use the potty. He is making great progress!!

Andy is taking two accounting classes this semester and is acing both of them. I sort of makes me sick! He studies the night before and makes A's. I would have to study for 3 weeks and barely make a C! I am so proud of him though!

Engagement pics

Casey and Heather had their engagement pictures taken Monday evening. Here is a sneak preview of the pics. I LOVE it!!! The rest of the pictures should be ready in a couple of weeks. I can't wait to see them!

Feeding deer

The boys had a rare chance to feed a baby deer on Saturday. They fed the deer grapes!




I love the picture above. The boys are so sweet with the deer!

Playground

After Avery's Baptism the boys played on the new playground at the church while Stacy and Duane prepared lunch for us!

Alex learned how to climb the rock wall.

The slide was a hit! It was pretty steep so you slide really fast.

Mason was playing tag with the rest of the kids on the playground. He was it so he had to try to tag someone else.

The boys

While the girls were at the baby shower Saturday morning Andy and the boys went to a cattle auction. They love the Four County auction because they have a walkway above the cattle pens. For little guys it's really cool to be higher then the items you are looking at!

Later that afternoon they went to the country to check the deer feeder. The grass Alex is running on was planted by Andy and the boys awhile back. They are very proud of the fact that they helped plant the seeds for the grass that is now green and growing!

Granna got the boys new camo backpacks with lots of winter clothes inside. Alex immediately put his on and went to ride the tractor. Here is Mason trying to get Alex off of the tractor that HE wanted to ride FIRST!

Busy weekend

This weekend we went to Brenham for Bridget's baby shower, Granna's birthday, Avery's Baptism, Aunt Lillie's 100th birthday and to hang out with Harper and Natalie (Baaa- inside joke!) It was a busy weekend but lots of fun. My pictures from the shower and the baptism are terrible quality but at least you get a visual! Bridget got so many things at her shower. They should be very prepared as first time parents!

Avery was letting Pastor Rick know she didn't appreciate the water on her head! She was actually very good throughout the entire church service and Baptism ceremony. She is such a sweet baby!

Halloween Costumes

We purchased the boys' Halloween costumes tonight. They both are apparently in between sizes because the small was too small and the medium is huge. But we went with the medium because they REALLY wanted these costumes. It was a struggle to get them to take them off so I could give them a bath tonight! Here is Alex in his doctor costume.

I told Mason to smile and he said "No, you have to be serious when you are a policeman." This is his serious look! He is so cute! His outfit is HUGE. The difference between the size he has on and the next smallest size was ridiculous. The size smaller than this one was so short, the jacket looked like it was supposed to be short sleeves and the pants were high waters. I am hoping Granna can do some magic this weekend with her sewing skills (on her birthday too!)

If anyone needs help from a policeman or doctor I know where to find two very good ones. They are pretty cute and smart too if I may say so myself!

New version of basketball

Tonight we ate dinner at my parents. The boys wanted to play outside since the weather was so nice. There wasn't much to play with so they invented their own game. They found a soccer ball and an empty planter and had their own version of basketball. Mason would hold the planter and Alex would try to make a basket and then they would switch. It was so cute. Anytime Alex would make a basket Mason would tell him he was going to win a bag of fruit snacks. By the time they were through playing the game Alex had won 11 bags of fruit snacks. Not sure who is responsible for paying up on that! Maybe he will forget...Yeah Right!!!

A day of parks

Since yesterday was such a nice day we decided to go to the park in the evening as well. We took the boys to a park they had never been to in Brenham. It was really nice. It was shaded and had lots of different playscapes, a nice hike and bike trail and lots and lots of green grass! In the picture below Alex hears a train and is trying to see it.

Saturday morning

This morning we took the boys to the Brenham Toy Store so they could start their "wish list" for Christmas. They also have a big play area with lots of neat toys. It's the only toy store we can take the boys to without them asking us to buy them a toy. They really just enjoy playing in the play area. The toy store has so many unique toys. Andy and I spent the whole time looking at toys we wanted to buy for ourselves! After the toy store we went to Hohlt park to check on the ducks and play on the playground. Mason brought his goose caller! The ducks talked back and swam around trying to determine what stranger had invaded their home!

Behind the wall in the picture below is a steering wheel. Mason was driving Alex somewhere cool, I'm sure!
This park has two "microphones" so Mason would use one and have Alex go to the other. Here is Mason talking to Alex through the microphone.

POPS Rally

Friday Mason's school had a POP Rally to celebrate achievements throughout the first 6 weeks of school. Mason came home with three awards. First, "I did my best". Second, "Character Education". Third, a sticker for having perfect classroom behavior. He was so proud! Although, he didn't really want me to take a picture so below is the best I could get!

Play time at Whole Foods

Yesterday Alex and I went to visit at Dana at her work (Whole Foods). Dana bought us breakfast and he played on the playground there. Alex had a lot of fun. He has been enjoying the 1x1 time he gets on days when we don't have school. In the picture below he is playing on a picnic table that is hidden under the playscape. He said he was building a campfire!

Wooden park

We have a park at the end of our street that the boys call the "wooden park". It was such a nice weather today, so we decided to hang out outside for awhile. Here are a few pics of the boys at the park.



At this point they were really tired of having the camera in their face. They just wanted to play!

Butterflies in Del Rio

Andy was able to capture some pretty cool pictures of butterflies at the ranch in Del Rio this weekend. I love the picture below because you can see the body, face, legs, etc on the butterfly to the left. Andy said he wasn't able to capture with the camera the true quantity of butterflies! It sounds pretty amazing. I wish I was able to see it in person! But the pictures are impressive!
