Del Rio Part 3

This weekend we went to Del Rio. Saturday night we sat around the wood stove (it was cold) and played Yahtzee. Look at how serious Alex is....with his legs crossed!

Alex and Mason loved to run along the wall below. Alex fell into the plants once and finally learned his lesson!

The other day Alex was supposed to be taking a nap. After listening to him talk for 45 mins I went in there to see what was going on. This is what I saw...

Squirrels and Saws

Sunday Andy, Mason and Grandpa went to the country to do some work on the fence. Mason REALLY wanted to go hunting so they decided to hunt for squirrels. Andy shot it but Mason wanted to hold it for the picture. He was so proud (and serious!). After hunting they went across the street to watch a sawmill cutting wood. Mason was so intrigued!

Lazy Lucky

My parent's dog lucky jumped into the sink one day to take a nap. Too funny! Speaking of my parents, please pray for my dad. He fell down the attic stairs yesterday and broke his ankle in 3 places. He will need surgery but we aren't sure when yet. I'll keep everyone updated.

Kids and cousins

Alex found a new use for the "beer window". He was using it as a door! We took two of Andy's cows to the vet Saturday morning. The boys were watching as Andy loaded them into the trailer.

Saturday night we went to a party at EJ and Laura's house. The boys enjoyed playing with their cousins. Here Alex and Karra are coloring together.

Alex is playing grocery store with John, Karra and Allen. Poor Mason didn't feel good so he spent his time on his daddy's lap (daddy was playing cards with the guys). Mason ended up getting a fever so we had to leave early. But it was great food and it was fun to see everyone.

Brenham Airport

We went to eat at the Brenham Airport for lunch today. We sat on the patio and watched the planes take off and land. Most of the people sitting around us flew in to Brenham to eat. The table next to us was a husband and wife and two boys (a couple of years older then Mason and Alex). The mom asked the boys if next weekend they wanted to fly to Louisiana to eat. WOW!

It was such a beautiful day today. Andy, Mason and Grandpa are fishing right now. It's perfect weather for it!

I might have missed my calling....

The other day when we were in Walmart Mason saw this police station that he HAD to have. I told him to ask for it for his birthday. We saw it several more times so I agreed to buy it as an early birthday present. It was originally $20 on sale for $9. When we got it home I realized it consisted of 88 FOAM pieces that had to be "punched out" before assembly (it came with very lacking instructions that only included 4 pictures). It took me about 1.5 hours to put this piece of ... I mean to assemble this police station (at one point I had to get the hot glue gun out to glue a piece back together)! The boys were so excited to see it finished. However, as soon as they started playing with it I was all over them not to break it. I am certainly not putting it together for a second time. If anyone sees this police station or the fire station at walmart and think it's a great gift for someone, keep walking! Or call me, I can put it together for you! I've got it down now!

Oh yeah...I have a blog

The boys have been sick for WEEKS!! Andy and I feel so bad for them. It started with Mason getting strep throat and Alex getting a stomach virus. Then Mason got the stomach virus. Now Alex has a flu like virus. It's really sad when the boys ask us why they are sick all of the time. Come on summer!!
Saturday night Heather (my future sister-in-law) invited the girls to a place called Water to Wine. It was so much fun. We went to the location in Round Rock. We tasted several different wines (while live music was playing in the background). Heather wanted to get some wine made for their wedding. Once we picked our favorite wine Heather and I got to make it ourselves! It was really neat. Heather took pictures so once she sends them out I will post some. The wine has to ferment until the end of March. At that time, the girls get to go back and bottle it ourselves. Once bottled we get to apply the custom labels. How fun!

Hunting and Hay

We went to Brenham this weekend which meant the boys got to spend quality time with dad doing guy things. We went to the "country" to check on Andy's cows and do some "hunting". Mason wanted to hunt but Andy told him the only thing they could shoot this time was squirrels. Thank goodness for me they didn't see any! I am not ready to see an animal get shot! Here we are sneaking up on the deer feeder where the squirrels like to eat all of the corn that's intended for the deer!

We scared the deer and the squirrels off! It's hard to sneak up on anything with two boys, two adults and a dog!

Mason and Andy went to get some hay at Grandma's house (now EJ and Laura's) to bring back to the country to feed his cows. Mason got to help drive the tractor. He was so excited. Check out how big the tire is compared to Mason!

Mason also got to shoot a 22 for the first time this weekend. He shot at a piece of wood, but shot none the less! He was telling me about everything he did in the country and very quickly skipped over that part. I had to make him back up several times until I got the full story! He was so proud!

Silly Alex

Alex was in a silly mood tonight! He got a stomach virus on Friday and hasn't really been himself since. But tonight he must have been feeling better. He tried on my shoes and was playing with this apples at the dinner table!

He made sure I got a back shot of the shoes!
