Cameron Park Zoo

The boys and I went to Pflugerville for a few days to visit my family, eat yummy food, shop, etc. Tuesday we took a trip to the zoo in Waco. I love this zoo because it's small enough to walk the entire zoo in 2 hours and its really shady, which is a must have in the Texas summer! The big boys did a great job of taking care of Austin and showing him all the animals. I love this picture below of Alex holding Austin's hand and leading him into the zoo.

The first exhibit was this huge turtle. Austin loved it because he could get pretty close to it.

Austin heard the boys call the clown fish "Nemo" so he proceeded to call every fish Nemo. Here he is pointing at the "Dory" fish.

He needed to make himself comfy!

Mason usually takes on the role of teacher so most of the pictures I have, Mason is pointing at the animals and giving a lesson about each!

The bear shared an exhibit with vultures. Sort of gross, but they didn't seem to bother each other.

Poor Mason. He was pouting in this picture. My mom had given each of the boys $20 for having a great school year. Mason decided to take his with him to the zoo incase he saw something he wanted, even though he already knew he wanted to buy a Wii game with the money. Apparently, when he was taking his ipod out of his pocket to take a picture, the $20 fell out too. He never found it. He was pretty upset. He said he doesn't like the zoo anymore. :(

One of Austin's favorite animals at the zoo was the Owl!

Anytime there was a statue of an animal Austin would march right over and sit with it. He talked to it, gave it high fives and hugs and didn't want to leave it. It was cute!

Austin's other favorite animal was the elephant.

After the zoo we stuffed ourselves with Double Daves pizza! We were in Austin for 4 days and I think I gained 3 lbs, at least that is what my scale says, but I think something is wrong with it!

Day 19- groceries

I wish I could show you a picture of groceries, but with 3 boys at home for summer, its almost impossible to keep the fridge and pantry stocked! I just went to the store yesterday and they have already eaten half of it! I may need to get a part time job!

Day 18- today i

Today I:

• took alex to swim practice
• picked up a pet carrier
• took the cat to the vet
• went to the grocery store
• returned the pet carrier
• cleaned the house
• did some laundry :)
• 
• made dinner
• cleaned the kitchen
• watched the voice finale

It was a good day!

Watering

Andy wanted to water a tree and patch of grass that he planted last night. He didn't get very far until a little boy was very interested in the water hose. He wanted to water like Daddy. 

After a while of letting Austin water, Andy asked Mason to water the patches of grass. Austin wasn't happy with that and wanted the water hose from Mason.

Mason showed him how to use it on the "shower" setting.

 Then it got fun!

 Ten minutes later we had some soaking wet boys!

Shopping

Austin was doing a little shopping around the house today. He would walk around grabbing random objects and put them in his cart. At one point he crawled underneath our desk in the kitchen where we keep extra drinks. He grabbed a beer from the case and put it in his basket!

All that shopping really wore him out, he needed to down some before he could move on! Hilarious! I don't know where he gets this from.

Day 12- jump

Day 11- chocolate

I wasn't planning on eating chocolate today and had to dig through the candy cabinet to find some! Needless to say, Austin had his first taste of M&M's and he is definitely a fan. He practically assaulted me to get more!

Day 10- pet

I wish I was posting a picture of our dog Scotty (who we lost 2 years ago) but here is our pet, Shelby. I'm definitely not a cat lover, but she has grown on me. I sort of like her, and let her live in my house. :)

Day 9- my smile

Alex

Alex wanted to dress up for my birthday so he came out of his room dressed like this. So sweet!

Swim team

When Alex wanted to join the swim team this year I was not exactly excited about it. I was DREADING the 6 days a week of swim, dragging a toddler along for all of it. But I have to say, I really enjoy it. It helps that our dear friends the Thibodeaux's and our new friends the Zschech's swim too. We always have coverage on the kiddos. Alex is a great swimmer, naturally, so that helps too! Mason is an awesome swimmer too, but he didn't want to sign up this year. I'm hoping to talk him into it for next year. I would love for Alex to join year round swim because I feel like he will forget so much by next summer. So far he isn't buying it. It helps that the greatest swim coach in Brenham is one of my besties! So hopefully she can get him back up to speed before next season. I think swimming might be Alex's sport. Erin as the head timer. When I watched the video that Andy took of Alex's backstroke the person I heard the loudest was Erin. She coaches Alex after swim practice and cheers him on during each meet. Grateful for her talents and love for my kids.
