His favorites right now are playing outside, driving ANYTHING that has a steering wheel, playing with balls, brooms, fake food (cooking) and reading books. He LOVES books. We probably read 15-20 a day! He still asks to watch the Barney video but I always tell him "later" and he is fine with that. Somehow, "later" never comes around! He is climbing on everything and if no one is watching he will stand on whatever he has climbed on. Related to climbing, he fell out of his bed the other night, so I'm wondering if it was a freak thing, or if he will begin trying to climb out on a regular basis. Mason and Alex stayed in the crib until they were 3! I would hate to have to move Austin so soon! He is too much of an adventurous risk taker! We may find him standing on the kitchen table, or in the neighbors yard if we move him to a toddler bed anytime soon!
He still eats a ton of fruits and some veggies (he would probably eat more if I offered him more of a variety, bad mommy!), he loves bread, cheese (although I try to limit that since his stomach can't handle a lot of dairy), and any snack food. I just can't get him to eat meat! I have tried all types in many varieties (grilled chicken, fried chicken, baked chicken, you get the idea!) I guess I'm not too worried right now, because look at him. He seems pretty healthy! He is still on soy milk. I think I will wait until he is closer to 2 to try the whole milk again.
He is still the most laid back, easiest baby! I had to move him to 1 nap a day, in order to accommodate swim team practices. He usually wakes up between 6:00-7:00, then takes a nap around 10:30 (sleeping until 12:30 normally), then goes to bed between 7:00-8:00. It makes for long afternoons, but he does great, thank goodness!
He knows most of his animal sounds and can point out the common animals (dog, cat, cow, duck, etc) in a book. He is starting to learn the primary colors but right now can only regularly point out blue. He will tell me when he has gone in his diaper by telling me "poo poo" or "tee tee"!
He still loves his bath, especially when Alex takes a bath with him!
He makes me laugh daily and is so stinking cute I just want to eat him up! I know I'm a little biased!
