Movin' on up

Our house is officially on the market! 7 years ago Andy and I bought this house and said we would live there a couple of years to establish home ownership. Seven years and 2 kids later we are BUSTING at the seams! The kids would love to have a yard to play in and sidewalks to ride their bikes on. They would love to have neighborhood kids to play with. We'll see what God's plan is for us.

Alexism

This morning when I was putting my make-up on Alex asked "Does your mascara brush spin?" After the initial shock of the question I asked how he knew about mascara brushes that spin. He said he saw it on tv and it looked cool. I should get one he said.

Boy time

Tonight the guys decided to build with Lego's. They built a McDonald's, an airplane and all sorts of creative masterpieces. As I am posting this I can hear Alex saying "Could someone help me out here?! My airplane keeps breaking." Alex and I had a lazy day today. He never changed out of his pajamas. The only reason I did was to take Mason to and from school!

Look at those missing teeth! He has already lost 4 and he is about to lose another one. He is also getting his 6 year molars in.

This month at preschool our theme is "winter". I asked Alex after school what craft he made. He said, "I made a blue car with lots of windows!" I thought that was a little strange to make a car during "winter" month, but he is usually always right about his crafts so I didn't argue. When I opened his folder, I saw the craft below.

A small evening project

We have some cracked tiles in our kitchen that we have been meaning to fix for awhile now. Andy decided that tonight he would start trying to fix them. His exact words when he started to remove the grout around the tiles were "this is a lot harder then I thought it would be." Then when he was finished he said "I'd always heard this was a messy project, but I didn't realize how messy!" Check it out...

Love Story

Alex has a best friend named Julia who is in his preschool class. They do everything together. They are so cute. Today Alex was singing "Love Story" by Taylor Swift and his words went like this:

Mason's birthday invite list

Mason and I were making plans today for his birthday party in Feb. I was asking him who he wanted to invite and he started naming several kids in his class, then he named his cousins, then some friends from preschool. Finally, he said "Oh and I want to invite Jesus too." My sweet Mason!

Honest Scrap

Stacey tagged me on this so I have to list 10 random things about myself. So here goes:

1. Whenever I get REALLY tired I think EVERYTHING is hilarious.
2. I have to sleep with a fan on for noise no matter where I am or what the weather is like.
3. I like to watch Drake and Josh with the boys. I actually get into the show more than they do.
4. I don't really like to talk on the phone even though I spend at least 1/3 of any given day on the phone!
5. I love country music (especially the 80's)
6. I love wine (red or white please)
7. I hate to exercise and never do it (I wonder why I can't loose weight!)
8. I am a blog stalker. I love to read my friends blogs.
9. I play bunco with a group of women 20 years older than me!
10. I still watch Desperate Housewives, but I have never watched a full episode of Gray's Anatomy.

Alex and Mason-isms

I don't have much to post but I couldn't stand looking at those dirty tadpoles everytime I opened the blog site! Here are a couple of funny statements from the boys in the last couple of days. The other day Alex was trying to open something and was having a hard time. The next thing I know I hear him say "God, help me!" I usually say that outloud when they are fighting with each other and I have had enough! Then the other day Andy, the boys and I were riding in my car (Andy was driving). Alex said "Daddy, you are a good driver." Since he was driving MY car I asked Alex if he thought I was a bad driver! Before he could answer Andy said "Mommy is a good driver too!" Then Mason pipes up and says in a very drawn out annoyed voice "We already know that Daddy, that's why you married her!" Cute boys!

Tadpole update

I know y'all have been wondering how our new additions are doing! ;) Well, we have discovered that tadpoles are dirty creatures! They are picky too!! We feed them fish food but they don't want anything to do with it. I am not really sure how they are still living! The habitat they were in leaked all over the place so now they are in a plastic bowl. They get the water so dirty that at least it will be easier to change their water in this new home! I need to research how long it takes these things to turn into frogs because we have already told Mason once they become frogs we are releasing them back to their natural environment!! Stay tuned....

The latest with the boys

Mason started back to school yesterday. It was rough getting up yesterday morning but Mason and I seemed to manage. I got to come home and play with Alex while Mason had to be in school all day (doesn't seem real fair huh?!) Alex tried out on of my "experiments" I put together for my preschool class. We are learning about bears this week so I wanted to freeze little bears in ice and put that in my sensory tub for the kids to play with. However, I didn't have ice trays so I just filled sandwich ziplocs halfway with water and dropped the bear in. Good thing Alex tested it for me because we found two issues: 1) the ziploc bags were not freezer bags 2) the bears float. So I scratched that idea! Alex had fun waiting for them to melt so he could play with the bears!

We had Christmas last weekend with our cousins in Brenham. Denise and her family gave Mason this backyard safari. Its meant for tadpoles so you can watch them grow into frogs. It came with a coupon for a free tadpole. There were just a couple of catches- 1) it takes 4-6 weeks to come in 2) you have to pay $7 shipping and handling! We decided to go to the pet store and buy two tadpoles for $6. Mason was SO excited. We filled his habitat with water and dropped the tadpoles in. I researched on the internet that tadpoles like to eat boiled lettuce or fish food. I opted for the fish food! So far so good. We will keep you updated on this...

New Year's Eve Party

Whoo Hooo we welcomed in 2009 just like we were in New York!

The best part was that Granna and Grandpa let us sleep in the next morning. I slept until 11 then took a nap from 2-4:30. I felt nice a rested the next day! We had bean soup for lunch so hopefully I have lots of good luck in 2009!

My resolutions for 2009 are as follows:

• lose 10 more lbs by eating healthy (I won't say exercise just yet, I have so start small!)
• find a church our whole family likes
• start going to church on a regular basis
• find a discipline technique that works for my boys to decrease the yelling in our house
